AIKO 550 Wp: High output in a panel under 2 metres

For a long time, a simple rule of thumb applied to photovoltaic panels: higher power often meant larger size. If the panel was to offer a power output of around 500 Wp and above, it usually needed a larger cell area.

In practice, for installers, this meant a more complex design, less work with limited roof space and sometimes a trade-off between the number of panels and the resulting system performance.

AIKO Generation 3 shifts this relationship.

The AIKO NEOSTAR 3P60 550 Wp model has a dimension of 1954 × 1134 × 30 mm. This means that 550 Wp of power can fit into a panel less than 2 metres long.

Why is this possible

The main reason is the N-Type ABC / All Back Contact technology. In this design, the contacts are not routed along the front of the cell. Thus, the front surface of the panel is not partially covered by conductive elements and a larger part of the cell can work for power generation.

This results in a higher active area utilization and an efficiency of 24.8%.

It is the efficiency that is key in this case. It's not just the higher power itself, but the fact that the higher power is delivered in a more compact format. This is a difference that is easy to see in PV design.

Where the AIKO 550 Wp makes the most sense

The AIKO 550 Wp is particularly interesting for installations where the available area makes the difference. Typically for single-family homes, smaller commercial rooftops or projects where there is a need to get as much power off the roof as possible without unnecessarily increasing the number of panels.

This gives the installer more flexibility in design. More power can be delivered to the same area, or the desired system performance can be maintained with fewer panels.

This can impact not only the design itself, but also the construction, cabling, number of connections and overall installation logistics.

The first stock sold out quickly

The first delivery of AIKO 550 Wp panels did not stay in our warehouse for long. Customers quickly dismantled it.

We are planning another large stock take in July, when 11 AIKO 550 Wp containers will arrive at the SOLSOL warehouse.
