BESS Comparison 2026: We Updated Our Overview of Commercial Battery Storage Systems

27.07.26

At the turn of the year, we produced our first overview of commercial and industrial battery storage systems, which was intended to help readers navigate the available technologies. However, the market is changing rapidly, with new systems and new configuration options emerging all the time. We have therefore now updated and expanded our winter comparison .

The new BESS Comparison Guide 2026 compares 11 systems across 15 technical parameters and helps you identify the right solution for a specific project more quickly.

What you’ll find in the updated comparison

We have included BESS solutions from SolarEdge, Huawei, Sungrow, Pixii, SolaX, Growatt, Deye, K-Star and Solinteg in a single overview . The comparison covers both AC-coupled systems and solutions using hybrid inverters.

For each system, we compare, for example:

  • rated power and installed and usable capacity
  • scalability options
  • product warranty and battery warranty
  • cooling method
  • dimensions and weight
  • installation type
  • backup options
  • commissioning
  • availability of mathematical models for compliance simulation tests
  • Key technical advantages of individual solutions

There is no single ‘best’ BESS for every project

This is precisely the main reason why we have updated the overview.

For some projects, a compact design or liquid cooling may be the deciding factor; for others, it may be the availability of a backup system, asymmetric operation, scalability or the availability of mathematical models. There are also differences in the length of the warranty, the number of guaranteed cycles or the method of commissioning the system.

The purpose of the comparison is therefore not to identify a single winner. It is intended to help narrow down the selection based on the project’s actual requirements and subsequently compare only those technologies that make sense for the application in question.

An overview as the first step in BESS design

The comparison table is primarily intended for installation companies, designers and investors who need to gain a quick overview of the available solutions.

The technical specifications in the overview are correct as at 22 June 2026 and are subject to change in line with further product developments.

If you are working on a specific BESS project, we can assist you not only with selecting the technology, but also with designing a suitable configuration and carrying out a technical assessment of the solution.
