Intelligent system for using solar energy to heat water

ALFRED Heat is a smart controller for surplus photovoltaic energy that allows you to use electricity from your PV system efficiently for water heating. Instead of exporting surplus energy to the grid, you store it as heat in your water heater. Efficient use of surplus PV energy is ensured by continuous control of the heating element output. As a result, electricity consumption from the grid is significantly reduced, helping you achieve substantial savings on your electricity bills.

How does it work?

The ALFRED Heat controller works together with the ALFRED Box unit, which must be installed on your photovoltaic system. It receives real-time information about available surplus energy from the ALFRED Box and controls water heating accordingly.

Which water heaters is it designed for?

The device is designed for water heaters equipped with a standard power cable and plug for a 230 V socket. Such water heaters can easily be connected to the controller without professional assistance – no electrician is required.

The controller is equipped with:

• 230 V socket output for connecting the water heater
• Power cable with plug for a standard socket
• Output with a temperature sensor for monitoring water temperature
• Input for a network (Ethernet) cable

Internet connection

An internet connection is required for proper operation. The device can be connected either via a network cable or wirelessly through the local Wi-Fi network.
